The OPERA Online Members' Agreement

As a member of the Online community, I agree to the following:

• I accept accountability for my words. I understand that I am solely responsible for the contents of my messages.

• I will use respectful language. Like any community, OPERA Online's conferences can flourish only when our Members feel welcome and safe. I agree not to use language that abuses or discriminates on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual preference, age, region, disability, etc.

• I will not advertise any products or services in any conference except in those conferences specifically set aside for this purpose.

• I will not post the same information numerous times in various Online conferences.

• I will not engage in any illegal activities including, but not limited to, copyright infringement, defamation, slander or libel.

• I will not threaten, verbally attack, harass or impersonate others. Should any dispute arise with another Online member, I will settle my disagreement with that individual in a civil manner. If I am unable to resolve a disagreement in this way, I will ask the Online Administrator to refer the dispute to the Online's Executive for resolution. I understand and accept that their decision will be final in any such matter.

• I will pay my membership fee by the end of June each year. If payment is not received by the end of June, I understand that my access will be limited to my mailbox, address book for a period of 30 days, after which time my account will be deleted.

I understand that the Online Administrators agree to the following:

• they will not edit the content of members' messages. However, they reserve the right to remove any messages that are disruptive or that violate the user agreement and/or the right to revoke any member's privileges for inappropriate message posting.

• they will not use my voluntarily supplied data for any purpose beyond the reason it was collected in the first place without my explicit permission except as may be required by law.

• they are not responsible for the accuracy of any message, and are not liable for any damages incurred as a result of information contained in posted messages.

• they will make every effort to help account holders deal with any problem, technical or otherwise. Should any matter prove too difficult to resolve satisfactorily, they reserves the right to cancel a member's account and refund any membership fee balance outstanding.
